When Temple Shalom in Scotch Plains offered to host a party for our refugee families and volunteers, we jumped on the opportunity!  With in-person activities still at a minimum, we were glad to be able to share time together, catch-up with old friends, and make connections with new neighbors.

Over 60 clients and volunteers attended the celebration, with families representing Sudan, Afghanistan and the Congo.  There were plenty of fun activities for the kids and everyone enjoyed a fabulous Halal buffet. When the party was over, each family went home with three bags filled with cleaning supplies, toiletries, and fresh fruit, vegetables and flowers from a local farm.
