Who we are
Refugee Assistance Partners of New Jersey is a 501 (c) (3) public charity (ID # 82-1634333).
We are an interfaith partnership of communities and non-affiliated individuals concerned for the plight of refugees who have been resettled in and around Union County, New Jersey. Our mission is to help them find self-sufficiency while safe-guarding their dignity and uniqueness.
Since our founding in 2015, we have:
helped over 150 refugees from the Middle East and Africa;
assisted individuals and families - from elders to newborns - maintain housing, adjust to school, learn English and other life skills, secure employment, and more;
worked to dispel unfounded fear and distrust of refugees by distributing accurate information, holding public events, and sharing our experiences.

As we begin the new year, it’s fitting that we look back at how we have served our mission: to welcome refugees and help them find self-sufficiency while safe-guarding their dignity and uniqueness.
First, we choose welcome. ..
